Description

Small to large deciduous or semi-deciduous trees. Leaves alternate, imparipinnate; leaflets opposite to sub-opposite, membranous or sub coriaceous, margins entire, crenate or serrate. Inflorescence an axillary or terminal panicle. Flowers small, bisexual, sometimes unisexual; cream, white, orange or red. Fruit a drupe; oblong, globose, obovoid or ellipsoid, green, yellow, orange or red drupe, mesocarp fleshy, edible, acidic, bony endocarp with a fibrous matrix.
