Description

Deciduous, small trees, 6-12 m tall. Bark greyish brown with vertical fissures. Leaves simple, alternate, broadly ovate to circular, subcoriaceous, glabrous above, glabrous to pubescent below, base rounded to cordate or cuneate, apex obtusely acuminate, margin entire to slightly dentate. Inflorescence a terminal cyme. FLowers variable, unisexual and bisexual flowers, white. Fruit a drupe, 20 mm long, ovoid or globose, apiculate, glabrous, yellow or brownish-yellow with mucilaginous sweet pulp, 1 seeded.
