Uses

The leaves can be used to treat the effects of stinging nettle by rubbing them in hand and then applying to the rash area. Relief is almost instantaneous. The flowers and stem bark are used to make medicine.

Description

Small to medium-sized tree, 6-15m tall. The bark is light brown, nearly smooth, and generally thin with lens shaped areas along the stem. Leaves large, bipinnately compound with 10-35 pairs of leaflets, many oblong leaflets alternate along the stems. Flowers showy, fragrant pink, resembling pompoms and are arranged in panicles at the ends of branches. Fruits are flat, straw-colored pods containing light brown oval-shaped seeds.
