Description

Medium-sized, deciduous tree, 10‐12 m high. The bark is smooth, and its color can range from a whitish gray to deep red-brown. Leaves imparipinnate, usually alternate, sometimes subopposite; leaflets 5‐20, opposite to rarely subopposite or alternate, ovate or elliptic, glabrous above, pubescent below, base slightly revolute, apex acute or acuminate, margin entire. Inflorescence a raceme. Flowers bisexual, bright pink to lilac color that is tinged with white, yellowish at base. Fruit a dehiscent pod, yellow-brown when ripe. Seeds 4‐10, dark brown, oblong.
