Ring Wood Circle
Ring Wood Circle is a prime part of Cubbon Park surrounded by motorways. There are beautiful Tabebuia trees which bloom in the winter season (From December to January). It is a scenic spot with luxurious Mussaendas and roses. There are also Thuja occidentalis and ornamental hedges. Children throng this area at weekends since vehicle trafc is not allowed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Earlier the Band Stand of Cubbon Park was located at the centre of the Ring Wood Circle. Then the Band Stand was a very popular venue for colourful functions, oral functions, military bands and dancing programmes. Upon observing that this caused inconvenience to the passersby in the roads around, the Band Stand was shifted to its current location in 1937.
